On July 1, 1951, Elders Spencer W. Kimball and Henry D. Moyle organized the Santa Monica Stake at a special conference being held at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium Building in Culver City. The new stake consisted of the Brentwood, Mar Vista, La Cienega, Westdale and Santa Monica Wards, with E. Garrett Barlow as Stake President.
This site has been created as a way to collect memories about the stake. Please add what you recall about these wards and what lead to the creation of the stake and what has happened since.
