My grandfather, Wallace R Reid, is listed as one of the bishops. I was born in that ward, also. I can still see it in my mind's eye. My parents tell me that I first walked on the brick walkway in front of the entrance. It is so interesting that this building which meant so much to so many families is not even remembered. I remember running away from a Sunday church meeting and stealing a piece of fruit from a local market. I was only 3 years old.
What is the date of the dedication of the LaCienega Ward Building?
I was blessed in this ward and grew up in it until 4th grade. My parents, William and Rosemary O'Rullian, moved into the ward, I believe, around 1955. I remember the building so well...it was so unique and pretty. A year ago when visiting California my husband and I drove down the street on which it used to be. A Public Storage facility is now in its place! Glad I have the memories, though. I had the best Primary teachers there!
